He has been also archeologist-amateur and first who started to investigate the prehistoric cave on Tradanj). Stosic among about thirty Zaton parish priest didn’t mention Lapenna, but according to data from the bishop's archive, Lapenna has been in Zaton from 1847 to 1862.

Zaninovic further writes that schools were interrupted in their work because of the change of teacher and because of the weak worry for their work. During the French government all the schools were closed in the area of Sibenik villages. The Austrian government has started to open up schools, but teaching on the Italian language; so this was the way of deprivation of national identity. Classes, says Zaninovic, were maintained two hours daily. They didn’t have books, and they have learned to read from "Bukovnjak schiavetanski za nauk male dice u Dalmaciji” (Zaninovic, p. 21).

From 1884, the state was worried about elementary schools. In Zaton, in 1912 it has been built the new building of Elementary school with the watch-tower and school bell. In Thirtieth years of the past century, the school area in Zaton has been extended on Cvitan building (near Vrulje), and from 1947 to 1995 on the building of oil refinery Lasan. At the same time the area for the preschool classes has been built, in the organization of establishment of Nursery schools from Sibenik.

At the end of 19th century, Sibenik made significant steps in the economy: it has been implemented the electricity for the illumination and important industry, has been brought the water from Krka, constructed the sewerage, appeared many handicraft workshops, factories of carbide, and the railroad. A lot of that has been connected with the name of chief Ante Supuk. Progress in Sibenik rapidly reflected on Zaton. In 1894 the Post Office has been opened, in 1896 has been built the road Zaton-Mostine, some later has been built the shore side wall (riva). Around 1910 has been built the large tank for the rainwater, because Zaton possess enough only mixed water. In 1906 has been built the new cemetery, in order to abandon the use of old cemetery placed in the middle of the village.

The period of kingdom Yugoslavia in Zaton has been marked only by prolongation of road works (Zatona - Sarina draga towards Sibenik). Before every election this construction site was opened, the works would start and immediately after elections everything would stop. Finally this direction of the road has been abandoned by the construction of Adriatic highway. After the Sibenik Bridge has been built, on the initiation of people from Zaton, the road Bridge-Zaton-Rasline has been built also, and the ship connection Skradin-Sibenik was canceled. After electrification of Zaton in 1951, there have been performed numerous public works: it has been imported the fluid water (1971), has been built the sewer system, many streets and public surfaces, has been formed the park and planted new plantations.
